Écrans Mixtes — LGBTQ+ Film Festival

Écrans Mixtes, Lyon's LGBTQI+ film festival, has been running since 2011, taking over the city every March. It's not just about one cinema - the 2026 edition had around 100 screenings at 30 venues across greater Lyon. You'll find films at arthouse cinemas, cultural centres, and suburban theatres like Les Amphis in Vaulx-en-Velin, which supports the festival as part of its anti-racism plan.

The lineup mixes new queer features and documentaries, often getting their first screening in France, with older queer classics, shorts, and talks with directors. Pathé Bellecour is the festival's central hub, a role it's held since 2025. Most films screen in their original language with French subtitles - so if you don't speak French, check the screening details before buying tickets, as English subtitles aren't a given. Tickets are sold per screening at each venue, and they're €8 each, or €6 for students and seniors.

The 16th edition ran from 4 to 12 March 2026, themed "Éclats d'identités".
Lyon's tourist office has 3 to 14 March 2027 listed, but it's marked as still to be confirmed, so don't count on those dates just yet.
