The Fondation Le Refuge is a national, state-recognised (reconnue d'utilite publique) foundation headquartered in Montpellier that prevents the isolation and suicide of LGBTQ+ young people aged 14-25 who have been rejected by their families. Founded in Montpellier, it provides emergency housing, psychological and social support and a 24/7 helpline through delegations across France. Its head office is in the Port Marianne district. For travellers it is both a landmark of the city's strong LGBTQ+ civic life and a resource for anyone in difficulty.
