About this place Gibus Club

Gibus Club is the closest thing Paris has to a flagship gay nightclub, situated on Rue du Faubourg du Temple in the 11th arrondissement, fifteen minutes' walk from Le Marais and a very different experience from the terrace bar culture of Rue des Archives. The venue holds around 900 people across multiple dance floors, a Playroom for those who want more than dancing, VIP sections, and a smoking area that serves the function of most outdoor terraces. The weekly roster covers most bases: Bitch Party on Fridays is the high-energy pop/electro option; Menergy on Saturdays is the classic house/disco night; Orgy Night, BBB, and the Scandal afterparty cover the more sexually-oriented and fetish-adjacent programming. The club draws a predominantly male crowd, and the production values are significantly higher than the Marais bars — proper sound system, proper lighting rigs, and the sense of an operation that takes the clubbing experience seriously. Worth the ten-minute walk east from Le Marais once the terrace bars have run their course.

Went for Madonna night and had a fabulous time. The drinks were club price, the stage show was fantastic, and staff and patrons were kind and in good spirits. Definitely recommend this spot for events.

Terrible. Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs!!! I frequented Gibus for over 25 years, since its heyday. It is with great regret that I leave this review. Late at night, when I went to retrieve my coat from the cloakroom, it had simply vanished—along with my keys, documents, and other personal belongings. I filed a complaint. What shocked me most: we are forced to leave our jackets in the cloakroom, but we are refused access to check for ourselves if they are still there. When I asked questions, there was no help, no acceptance of responsibility—just a referral to "so-called external service providers." Searching online, I see that I am far from the only one in this situation. What appears to be an isolated incident seems to be a well-established practice. It is appalling to see that such an establishment can act with complete impunity, without the affected customers being able to obtain any compensation whatsoever. A once legendary Parisian establishment that no longer deserves the trust of its patrons. I understand better why it's closing permanently…
