Solidays Festival
About This Event
Solidays is not a Pride or an LGBTQ+ event. It is a three-day music festival created in 1999 by the HIV/AIDS charity Solidarité Sida and its founder Luc Barruet, held on the lawns of the ParisLongchamp racecourse in the Bois de Boulogne. Its profits fund HIV prevention and care programmes, many of them in Africa, and many artists play for a reduced fee or for free. We list it because of that HIV link and because it usually falls on Paris Pride weekend.
It is a ticketed festival, with three-day passes starting at €39 in 2025. Several stages run from the afternoon until 5am on Friday and Saturday. Next to the stages is the Village Solidarité, where about 100 associations ran prevention, testing and information stands in 2025, supported by around 3,000 volunteers. The lineup is mainstream French and international pop, rap and electronic music; the 2026 bill included Orelsan, Bigflo & Oli, Major Lazer and Zara Larsson. The crowd is young and mostly straight. The queer presence comes through the associations and the prevention work rather than the programming.
Because it usually shares the last weekend of June with the Marche des Fiertés, you can combine the two, but Paris hotels are tight and expensive that weekend, so book early. Bring water and sun protection: the racecourse lawns have little shade.
The heat is no longer a side issue. The 28th edition, set for 26 to 28 June 2026, was cancelled on the morning of 26 June at the request of the Paris police prefect, who said he would ban it otherwise. He cited an exceptional heatwave that had been running since 21 June and was straining hospitals and emergency services. The Marche des Fiertés that weekend was cancelled too. Barruet told volunteers the cancellation cost Solidarité Sida about €3 million in fundraising. The last edition that actually took place ran from 27 to 29 June 2025. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
