Privatleben is a small neighbourhood gay bar on Gleimstraße in Prenzlauer Berg. The name means 'private life'. The room is tiny and decorated mostly in red, and the crowd is mostly local men who come for a drink and conversation, not to dance. It's a quiet alternative to the big Schöneberg and Friedrichshain venues. It opens at 20:00 Monday to Saturday, closing around 02:00 on weeknights and 04:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. It's closed on Sundays. Space is limited, so on a busy weekend you may end up standing.
