About this place Redgold1

This music bar in Berlin's Schöneberg gay district feels like someone's living room, a place for a drink and a chat that often turns into a singalong.

You’ll find it just around the corner from Axel Hotel Berlin, which makes it an easy walk if you’re staying there or just want to pop in as you explore the neighborhood. It’s got a low-key vibe, unpretentious and friendly.

The bartender pulls double duty as DJ, which means you can pretty much request whatever you want. Expect a playlist that jumps from 80s freestyle to German Schlager to whatever international pop hit someone yelled out last. It’s the kind of place where you might start with a quiet drink and end up dancing, or at least swaying along.

The bar slots right into Schöneberg’s easygoing gay scene. It’s a good spot to settle in, meet some people, or just enjoy a night out where the music is as much a conversation starter as the drinks.

We felt quite uncomfortable, and the bartender was very reluctant to serve drinks. Furthermore, we weren't allowed to play card games, and no explanation was given as to why.

Dear Lothar, it's such a shame you've closed. We always enjoyed our visits and had so much fun with your wonderful evergreen hits. Thank you so much for that and for the great times we shared. All the best, Stephan and Lars from Rostock

Was sad to see you have closed. Thank you for the music, chat and friendships made. I will never forget x

This bar was run by a nasty old man who completely ruined what could have been his last legendary night, chasing away customers for no reason. The rule was 2G+, meaning vaccinated people without a booster but with a recent negative test result should have been allowed in. However, he acted more selective and elitist than the bouncers at Berghain, turning away people with negative tests. Goodbye, Lothar. We won't miss you. And every time your bar is mentioned, I'm going to badmouth it. Because you deserve it.

Friendly service and excellent service. I can recommend it as the best bar in Munich. See you next time!

It's actually quite good; they fulfill music requests here. However, if a single customer doesn't generate enough revenue, they won't be tolerated in this establishment later on.
