About this place Boutique Hotel i31

Boutique Hotel i31 is a purpose-built design hotel in Berlin's Mitte, with 117 rooms at moderate prices. It opened in May 2013, balancing style and affordability. Rooms come at different comfort levels, but the whole place keeps a consistent, modern look. If you like well-thought-out interiors but don't want to spend too much, this is a good option. The location puts you in a culturally dense part of Berlin. The Hamburger Bahnhof, a major art museum, is close by. Getting around is easy: there's a U-Bahn station at Naturkundemuseum and S-Bahn access at Nordbahnhof, so you can quickly get to other neighborhoods. From here in central Mitte, you're well-placed to check out Berlin's dining, nightlife, and cultural spots. Berlin has long been one of Europe's friendliest cities for LGBTQ+ travelers. The community is strong, there are many gay-friendly places, and the culture is generally accepting. Staying at an LGBTQ+-friendly hotel like i31 means you'll get a warm welcome and a space where you can relax and be yourself.

I had a Comfort room and was lucky enough to be alone. Two people sharing a bed with only one blanket would have led to arguments 😁 The lighting concept, with which lights switched on and off with which switches, wasn't great, and you also had to insert your key card, which is a rather dark affair in November after 4 pm. The minibar with non-alcoholic drinks was free, and coffee/tea was also available, which I appreciated. Breakfast was good.

The hotel is conveniently located, but it's not exactly brand new. The rooms are functional and spacious enough, but not exactly state-of-the-art. Cleanliness is okay, but not exceptional. Both drinking glasses had lip prints on them and weren't clean. Not ideal, especially during the pandemic. Aside from that, the beds are great.

A very nice hotel in a prime location. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet is plentiful.
