This workshop is for everyone who wants to try both: writing and drawing. We want to be inspired by drawings made on-site for writing, and by written texts for drawing – and then see if and how they might fit together. Everyone who enjoys experimenting and collaborative work is welcome. No prior knowledge is necessary to participate!
Additionally, there is the opportunity to draw inspiration from the Weserburg itself – from the works in the collection exhibition "As We Are" to Murat Önen's "Moving Pile under the Blue Sky" (2022) to Zoe Leonard's queer-political manifesto: "I want a president" (1992).
Furthermore, there are four open sessions of Queer Writing: Against the Norm! with Bremen author Jutta Reichelt (March 29, June 7, 2026, August 23, 2026, and October 25, 2026, each from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM).
Lee Doubleu draws, paints, and writes in Bremen. Lee voluntarily leads a monthly drawing group as part of a team. Their own artistic work currently focuses on sketches, illustrations, and watercolors. After a first solo exhibition last year, Lee's artworks are featured this year in a group exhibition on the theme of gender and identity.
