Christopher Street Day Dortmund

CSD Dortmund is the Christopher Street Day of the Ruhr's biggest city, held on a Saturday in early September. It is organised by SLADO e.V., the umbrella body of Dortmund's queer groups, which has run it since 1997 when it was still called the schwul-lesbischer Arbeitskreis Dortmund. The 2023 edition was billed as the 25th.

The day has three parts: a demonstration that sets off at 13:00 from the north side of the main station, a street festival with info stands and a stage on Friedensplatz until 22:00, and an official after-show party at the Domicil club.

The 2026 CSD took place on 5 September under the motto "Fight for Pride – Kein Schritt zurück". The march left the station with about 1,800 people and grew to about 3,300 during the afternoon, according to a post-event report. Police called it largely peaceful, but at Brüderweg a stranger tore a rainbow flag from a marcher, who was lightly injured; police opened a case for assault. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
