Großer Garten

The Großer Garten is Dresden's largest park, 1.8 square kilometres of baroque gardens, tree-lined avenues and wooded corners just south-east of the city centre. Alongside the Dresden Zoo and Botanical Garden, its quieter, secluded paths have long been a discreet daytime and evening cruising spot for gay men, busiest from spring to early autumn. It is a public, well-used park, so ordinary discretion applies: keep to the wooded areas away from the main promenades, stay in public spaces, and be aware of your surroundings after dark. Reach it by tram to Zoo Dresden or Botanischer Garten. Same-sex activity is fully legal in Germany.
