Luxus Hostel Raabe

I can't understand the very positive reviews on various booking portals. Even the check-in process was extremely difficult. Because of an incorrect PIN, the safe wouldn't open, and someone had to come from another hotel. For the price, the room is very sparsely and simply furnished, including extremely unpleasant lighting without a proper reading light. It's a shame, but that was my first and only stay here.

Unfortunately, only one star. The "hostel" consists of four rooms on the third floor of a mixed-use building. You get the key from a key safe outside the building. There's no reception, and no one answers the phone number provided in the room. There's an elevator, and a note in the room recommends using it, but it wasn't working. The room is very large and sparsely furnished. There's a large TV, but the remote is missing. This is annoying because the TV is in welcome mode and is loud. The remote is nowhere to be found, and the joystick on the back of the TV takes quite a while to locate. Another annoying thing about the TV is that, although large, it's clearly not an HD TV. This is particularly problematic because ARD (and other channels) have switched off their SD programming, so the first few channels only show a static information image. What was truly awful and annoying, and therefore only one star, is that I specified during booking that I'm allergic to feathers and require a feather-free duvet and pillow. I did receive a prompt reply assuring me that this wouldn't be a problem. However, in reality, only feather bedding was provided. No one answered the phone number provided (see above), so a good night's sleep was out of the question. To complete the picture: there was also trash under the bed (I looked there while searching for the remote control).
