East Five Hotel Frankfurt Offenbach

The room was fine: comfortable bed, good blackout curtains, and a good shower. The breakfast selection was also good. However, it was quite pricey (€15 p.p.), even though the three of us only ate a few rolls and had some coffee/tea (but that is the case in every hotel). The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is easily accessible and has sufficient parking spaces. A disappointment was that parking used to be free, but now you have to pay €15. Hence the 3 stars for "service" and not 5 stars.

My stay at the East Five Hotel Offenbach was unfortunately a huge disappointment and certainly not up to 4-star standards. Upon entering the room, the lack of cleanliness was immediately apparent: dusty surfaces, a heavily dusty floor, dirty windows, and a large cobweb permanently hanging on the outside of the window. I even had to clean some of the surfaces myself. The provided toiletries were particularly unpleasant. After using the shower gel/shampoo, I had a very sticky, slippery film on my skin that didn't disappear even after showering several times. The ingredients seem like cheap, generic products and, in my opinion, are unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Despite a clearly visible "Do Not Disturb" sign, my room was entered while I was out, and towels were changed. I consider this completely unacceptable. In addition, there were several long black hairs on the fresh towels – simply disgusting from a hygiene standpoint. The breakfast was also disappointing. For €15, there was only a small selection, and the products were mostly very cheap and tasteless. In my opinion, the value for money is completely off. Overall, the place gave a poorly maintained impression with several issues that I definitely wouldn't have expected from a supposedly 4-star hotel.

We spent three nights there and were satisfied. My room request was fulfilled. Otherwise, everything was as described, and free parking is a great perk, so top marks! 👍 Breakfast has peak times, as in any hotel. The only complaint would be that occasionally the buffet wasn't replenished frequently enough. They did replenish generously when needed, but sometimes it took too long. Nevertheless, I give it 5 stars.

Simply TOP. Spacious room with all amenities. Air conditioning, fridge, walk-in shower, toilet, very good bed. And an extensive breakfast buffet! Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The location is only convenient for those arriving by car. It's quite a walk to the S-Bahn (suburban train), which isn't always pleasant with luggage. The room was okay. The bathroom was good. The bed was a bit too hard, and the pillow was awful. It took up almost half the bed. I wanted a small pillow and ended up with a decorative pillow from the hotel that someone else had already eaten on. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.

I spent a total of three days in Frankfurt and Offenbach. For my third night, I chose the East Five in Offenbach, located at Main kilometer 38.500. Why move from Frankfurt to Offenbach? Well, because the hotel has a prime location directly upstream of the Offenbach lock system and is very quiet. There's a lovely path along the Main River for bicycles, which are popular and convenient in the Frankfurt area. The Offenbach section of the Main Trail is also pleasantly designed. It's a bit more complicated for pedestrians. But I easily found the hotel again late in the evening via the STR16 Frankfurt-Oberrad tram line and then down Wehrstraße. :-) It seems not every local is aware of this: The weir bridge (over 200 meters long, and you can see right through it :-O) is open to pedestrians and cyclists. Several people were unaware of this crossing. :-) On the Frankfurt side, you'll find the southern harbor basin with its urban style typical of the port area. On the industrial sites, you'll see large excavators with metal tires processing and breaking down mountains of scrap metal. Trucks busily make their way along the harbor peninsula. There are also moments of great peace and quiet – and no "odd characters," like you might find at Frankfurt's main train station. The Honsell Bridge provides quick access to Frankfurt's public transport network, for example, to the East Station. The more pleasant and scenic route to Frankfurt is, of course, further downstream via the East Harbor Bridge and the Honsell Bridge towards Hanauer Landstraße. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to visit downtown Offenbach (it's over 4 km from East Five). For me, East Five is actually in Frankfurt :-) At least right on the Main River :-) Maybe I'll stop by again sometime for some apple wine :-)

They exceeded my expectations

Very clean, with a beautiful view of the Main River. Great Frustration, everything was great.

It is very clean hotel and receptionists were so friendly and kind. I appreciate and strongly recommend.
