CSD Osnabrück 2026 takes over one of Lower Saxony's oldest cities, a Christopher Street Day tradition that's been growing since the early 2000s. Osnabrück, the "City of Peace" thanks to its role in the 1648 Peace of Westphalia, puts that history of dialogue to good use, focusing its CSD on community, inclusion, and visibility for LGBTQ+ people across the Osnabrücker Land region.

The parade winds through the Altstadt's cobblestone streets. Expect rainbow flags, decorated trucks, drag performers, and groups from local clubs, schools, and political parties. It all finishes at a street festival on Markt or Theaterplatz. Stages here host German pop acts, drag shows, and community speeches. Later, evenings bleed into local bars and Osnabrück's LGBTQ+ community center, Anyway, with afterparties running late.

Osnabrück mixes medieval and modern. There's the Town Hall, where peace talks happened, the gothic St. Peter's Cathedral, and the Felix Nussbaum Haus by Daniel Libeskind. The Heger Tor district is worth a stroll. Beyond the city, the TERRA.vita UNESCO Geopark has nature walks. A university keeps the place feeling young and progressive.

Getting there: Trains from Hannover, Bremen, Münster, and Amsterdam stop at Osnabrück's central station, just a few minutes' walk from the Altstadt. The city's walkable and bike-friendly. Hotels cost less than in bigger German cities. Late spring weather is usually good, but bring layers and a light rain jacket for sudden showers.
