About this place S-Cape

S-Cape occupies a distinctive position in the Gazi gay landscape as a bar that successfully blurs the line between social drinking venue and dance club. The space includes both indoor and outdoor areas, allowing the evening to begin at the bar and migrate to the dancefloor as the night progresses — a structure that suits the Athenian social habit of spending the early part of the evening in conversation and the later part in motion. The crowd is young and predominantly gay male, with the range of regulars and visitors that any venue in a tourist-facing gay neighbourhood accumulates over years of consistent quality. S-Cape has a reputation for good drinks, fair prices by Gazi standards, and a booking policy that brings in DJs who understand the difference between warming a room and filling it. For those working their way through the Gazi circuit on a weekend night, S-Cape functions as both a stop in its own right and a natural transition point between the earlier rooftop sociability of Sodade2 and the fuller club experience at Noiz.

We were absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated at this club. We wanted to go inside, but the bouncer apparently decided that we “didn’t look gay enough” and refused to let us in. All of us are gay, but apparently that wasn’t obvious enough for him. The bouncer was extremely rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. While other people were continuously being allowed inside, we were deliberately left standing in the line and repeatedly denied entry without any proper explanation. It was humiliating and felt like blatant discrimination. We came here expecting to have a good night, but instead we were made to feel unwelcome and judged based purely on how we looked. Absolutely unacceptable behavior, especially from a club that should be welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community. We will definitely not be coming back and would strongly recommend thinking twice before going here.

We wanted to go inside this club. Until he thought we were not gay. We were discriminated while we were all gay but he couldnt see it from us. The bouncer was rude and disrespectful to us and wouldnt let us enter. People were let in, still we were at the line and he wouldnt let us in.

Generally shocking. I have ran bars and clubs in the famous Manchester gay village for years. Visited some of the best gay bars and clubs in the world. This place is one of the worst. DJ was a press and play DJ. No mixing. Fading out one average song into another average song. No real bass to make the songs pop. Any amateur bedroom DJ could have offered this mediocrity. One customer absolutely smashed fell into us twice, spilling their drink down our legs. No intervention from staff. We left after one drink the lovely man on the door asked why we were leaving so we were honest. Felt like he was just defensive. We went back to gay bars we've really enjoyed and reported back to the staff there who weren't shocked by what we were saying. Clearly they were aware of the lack of quality the club offered. Do yourself a favour and save your €10 entry and spend it more wisely at better bars like b327, Big and Sodade2. All of which have been free entry, more welcoming and had better djs and clientele.

Disappointing experience Unfortunately, our experience at S-Cape was very disappointing. The place was very small and crowded, but the biggest problem was the cigarette smoke. Almost everyone was smoking and the smoke was constantly coming towards us. The crowding itself wouldn't have been such a big problem if there wasn't so much smoke. Eventually, we went to dance on a raised platform, where there was a little more space. Unfortunately, two men entered the area where we were dancing and started pushing and falling on us, basically trying to push us away. It was very rude and unpleasant. We paid €10 for the entrance, with a drink included in the price. We stayed for about an hour and a half and left, because we couldn't enjoy the evening. It's a shame, but unfortunately we can't recommend this club.
