Heraklion Self-Organized Pride Initiative

The Heraklion Self-Organised Pride Initiative is the volunteer collective behind Pride in Heraklion, Crete's main Pride event, first held in 2015. It is run by students, activists and young residents without corporate sponsorship and is funded through merchandise and fundraising. Around the march, which has set off from the Georgiadis Park area, it holds talks, screenings and parties. It organises events and has no office or drop-in space. Pride usually takes place in early summer, and its social media is the only reliable source for dates.
