About this place ELIA BEACH

Elia is Mykonos’ longest stretch of sand and the default stop for gay visitors. Face the water and the gay section sits at the right-hand end, flagged by a rainbow. Sunbeds and umbrellas are rented by the day. Push past the last row of loungers and the sand gives way to a smaller, rocky cove that is clothing-optional and almost entirely gay. In July and August, the front-row loungers vanish by late morning. Arrive early if you want one. Elia is on the south coast, 20-30 minutes by bus or taxi from Mykonos Town. Bring water and sunscreen for the nude cove; it’s away from the beach bars and tavernas.

You can get here either by Bus from Pld Port for €2, or it is part of the €20 sea taxi return trip. Busy beach, I preferred the Agrari beach which was a 10 minute walk away which was much quieter.

Between Elia Beach and Agrari Beach, there's a tiny beach where local nudists gather. They're mostly men. The atmosphere isn't great, as the nudists are rather crowded together, and some prefer to settle on the surrounding rocks.
