About this place ELIA BEACH

Elia Beach is one of Mykonos's largest beaches and the island's most popular destination for gay visitors. The beach features plenty of sandy space, with sun beds and shaded areas available for daily rental, making it easy to settle in for a full day by the water. To find the main gay area, head toward the right side of the beach as you face the sea—look for the distinctive rainbow flag as your landmark. Beyond the main sun lounger area, you'll discover a smaller, more secluded bay that attracts additional gay sunbathers and is known as a popular nudist spot. This natural layout gives visitors options depending on their preferences for privacy and atmosphere. Since this is a well-loved destination, arriving early in the day is recommended if you want to secure a good sun lounger with a desirable view. While the beach itself is the main attraction, it's worth noting that food and drink options may be limited directly on the beach, so you might want to plan accordingly. Whether you're looking for a relaxed day soaking up the Greek sun, a vibrant social scene, or a quieter spot away from the crowds, Elia Beach offers something for different moods. It's an established part of Mykonos's LGBTQ+ scene and a straightforward choice for gay travelers seeking a classic Mediterranean beach experience. Elia is today the island's main gay beach: walk to the far right end (facing the sea), past the watersports rental toward the rainbow flag, where the crowd turns progressively gay and the clothing-optional/nudist cove begins. Continue over the rocks toward Agrari for the quieter daytime cruising stretch.

You can get here either by Bus from Pld Port for €2, or it is part of the €20 sea taxi return trip. Busy beach, I preferred the Agrari beach which was a 10 minute walk away which was much quieter.

Between Elia Beach and Agrari Beach, there's a tiny beach where local nudists gather. They're mostly men. The atmosphere isn't great, as the nudists are rather crowded together, and some prefer to settle on the surrounding rocks.
