Geranium Gay Residence
Some visitors praise the service, with one highlighting a staff member named Kostaz, and describe the rooms and suites as nicely designed and modernized. However, a significant number of recent reviews express disappointment that the property is poorly maintained, with broken fixtures, cleanliness issues, and outdated photos on booking sites that do not reflect the current reality, including a drastically reduced pool size.

So i have seen some critics and i was stunned from the thinks that i read, the hotel that i went is nothing that they write about in the comments, it is an amazing hotel with nice service excellent view and spot the rooms was nice and the suites was excellent and beautifully design and modernize i recommend the suites !!!
This was once a beautiful "sexy" hotel, clean rooms, enormous pool, caring staff. In the past 12 years the owners have changed, the pool made tiny and the rooms are gritty and not clean. Most of the pathway light are broken, moldy refrigerator, dirty floors. It is under construction which they do not mention when booking, so hopefully it will be resurrected when completed.
After having had a terrible experience in this hotel a year ago, I went to check what had become of the once so great hotel. Because it changed into a dump even more and the old beautiful pictures are still on the site, I feel obliged to other travellers to show what it looks like today. Not worth any of your vacation time if you don’t like to stay in motels.
The property was very poorly maintained It looked nothing like the website photos The bathroom was not properly clean the shower rail and door handle fell off The telephone line to the hotel had not worked for a month and the wifi was very poor only working occasionally in the reception area The towels were tread bare and small I moved out after 3 days and requested a refund of the additional 7 days I had paid Refused by management The pool and surrounded area not maintained No breakfast available and no bar service It was like staying in a youth hostel of old Europe.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in Front of house staff poor, no offer of drinking water on arrival despite the extreme temperature No assistance with direction to room Door handle fell off when entering room Curtains falling off windows Fridge not working, aircon poor and broken Toilet actually in shower recess Hand held shower fell off wall Requested to see manager but he never turned up to discuss issues No assistance from staff as to where to eat close to hotel Picture on web site nothing like the venue No tea or coffee making facilities in room Room safe no working and no offer to store personnel effects Booked 6 nights but left after 3 with NO offer of a refund despite requesting to see manager on numerous occasions
Sadly we were very disappointed on arrival not to find what we expected. The photographs on Tripadvisor and various booking sites are very different from reality. What once was a stunning large pool has been replaced with a very small version. Again more disappointment! Breakfast non-existent! Cocktail Time 6-9 pm non-existent! Photos or rooms - extreme wide angle lens used! The Hotel is itself conveniently located for Mykonos Town but the road outside is very loud, constantly busy and difficult to cross. Our room was small – enough room to walk round the bed and very little storage space with five coat hangers for your clothes and no view because all the windows in the entire Hotel are a milky creamy white opaque – you cannot see out of them. On the morning after the first night of little or no sleep due to the road noise I was ready to leave. After collecting a hire car, having a walk around town and visiting a beach it was decided that we would use the Hotel as a base and that is exactly what we did, returning most days around 6.00pm. We did use the small pool and met fellow quests around it and on a couple of occasions did have a couple of small beers but at 7 Euro each didn’t make this a habit. We did enjoy our Holiday to Mykonos but sadly cannot recommend this Hotel as it did not meet our expectations or equate to being anything like value for money.
The best thing about the Geranium was the pool. They have taken it out and replaced it with a joke. All the pictures on Trip advisor are obsolete. The owner of the property is in the process of turning it into a shopping mall. Sad to loose a Gay property.
This hotel has lots of potential. Although its a little Farther than Elysium, walking down into the village feels like an exploration, especially if you've enjoyed some of the drinks from the bar. I loved the white washed exterior. Although the room wasn't the best. Service made up for it, the service especially from Kostaz was amazing. He's keeping that place afloat. Towels were dirty which is off putting. Regardless of their downfalls, easy fixes, hopefully next season with the new management that's in place, Elysium will finally have a competitor
I was at Geranium mid September. I enjoyed my time there. I was afraid to go after reading the previous bad reviews. However, as soon as I got there I felt at ease. The hotel was clean. The pool was nice. The staff was great with me, even after noticing I was visually impaired. I'm thankful for that. Overall I recommend.
One star is overrated for this piece of forgone glory. After having stayed at this place with dwindling satisfaction 3 times in the last 8 years, we decided to give it another try. What a mistake. The once beautiful gardens were unmaintained. The formerly white walls grey with mold. The reception full of smoke with a woman who seemed to be mostly interested in the end of her shift. The owner dressed as if he just came out of bed. After having been ushered to pay the entire stay upfront “people on Mykonos are unreliable”, which we refused, we were given our room key 2 hours later than promised. The room was in the dungeons where one normally would house the staff. The television tilted, wires pulled across the walls, the toilet and shower were one unit, the sink loose, the internet non usable. Outside our view was beautified with stored mattresses and the laundry of the old, discoloured Hotel towels. At the pool we were invited three times to swim naked, although the place offered no intimacy whatsoever with random female staff walking around all the time. Staff were mostly sighted smoking near the kitchen, even though we were waiting for our room. When we were, after one night, taken to our room, we discovered that it wasn’t the one we had reserved. Instead, it was a windowless hole with a milk glass window in it. When complaining about our dismal experience, informing that we were leaving after just one night, we harvested a flood of insults, shouting, “never come back”. Even our written and constructive feedback to the co-owner remained unanswered. This was the worst hotel experience I have had in the last 10 years, or 1000 nights. Best choice of our vacation was to move out of this place as soon as possible and find a friendly place with competent staff.
