Palazzo Doglio

More like a 3-star hotel with a focus on business travelers. Very gloomy rooms, painted black and gray... there was no shampoo in the shower. It was replaced upon request, but that's no use if you're already in the shower and your hair is a disaster afterward. The same thing happened again the next day, and the conditioner was empty. The bed only had a thin blanket; I was freezing, and there were no other blankets in the room. The German TV channels were very limited. The internet only works with a complicated registration process, which expires after two days and has to be re-registered... the biggest annoyance: the internet didn't work at all on the laptop. Spa: We were extremely disappointed that, given the amount of money we paid for the hotel, the spa cost extra. Not just the treatments... no, the pool and sauna were only available at a massive surcharge and only with a specific reservation, and limited to, for example, 90 minutes. We couldn't plan this precisely because of our excursions, so we didn't use it and felt completely ripped off... I've never experienced anything like it. The breakfast buffet was at best 3-star quality... At night it was incredibly noisy, with loud techno music and shouting; I couldn't sleep for ages. Service: while the service was generally friendly, I expected more help and advice from the concierge. For example, they could have told us about options for getting to the flamingos, or that a strong wind picks up every day at the same time starting at 1 p.m., making the beach only worthwhile early in the morning. The only highlight was the Colonial restaurant in the courtyard, which deserves 5 stars in every respect.

Spectacular

A poor experience at Palazzo Doglio. The breakfast was poor quality, with less-than-fresh products and limited selection, completely out of line with the prices and reputation of the establishment. But the worst part was the service: cold, rude, and unprofessional staff. It almost felt like providing customer service was a hassle. The wait times were long, there was little attention, and some staff were arrogant. A beautiful location isn't enough when the food and service are so disappointing. It's an experience I wouldn't repeat, nor would I recommend.

Located on the edge of the city center, this excellent hotel presents itself in a contemporary and elegant style. The spacious rooms are well-appointed and feature a large, comfortable bed. The linens are changed daily, and a turndown service is provided in the evening. Good soundproofing ensures a peaceful night's sleep. It was a bit of a shame that the air conditioning couldn't be activated in May. Opening the window to air out the room then disrupted the peace and quiet. Breakfast is of a good standard, although unfortunately only one type of bread is offered. The selection of restaurants in the hotel's courtyard is very appealing. It truly evokes the atmosphere of Emily in Paris. All staff members are attentive and responsive to guests. Parking in the hotel's garage costs €25 per night.

A true palace, offering impeccable service and an ideal location near the main attractions. My second stay at this hotel, and it was just as satisfying as the first. The only slight drawback: noticeable sewer odors in a room located on the third floor.

This was my first time in Cagliari and I was pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and care that the whole staff at the Palazzo Doglio exhibited during my four night stay at this beautiful new property. Although this is a 5 star hotel in every sense, the price per night was very reasonable. Old school value for my euro. I want to thank the front desk staff for patiently printing several long documents without charge and without complaint. My daily breakfast was even included in the cost of the room. This is a classy hotel with all the amenities of the 21st century but with classic Sardinian and Italian charm and hospitality. I salute the team at the Doglio and I look forward to my next stay at this well run property.

The hotel is quite centrally located and well-suited for exploring the city. The welcome at reception could be improved with a refreshing towel and a welcome drink. The staff at breakfast were very courteous, but the music was sometimes quite loud and disruptive (who wants to have breakfast with Led Zeppelin playing?). Special egg dishes cost extra. The Prestige room was sufficiently spacious and furnished in a high-end, functional style. Room service and cleaning were exemplary. The balcony was furnished with a side table and two chairs. The nightly turndown service was also a nice touch. Unfortunately, neither the lights nor the fountain in the courtyard were turned off at night, so we could only sleep peacefully with the windows closed. We didn't use the spa, as they charged hotel guests €100 for two people for just an hour and a half. The hotel should address this. There's still room for improvement to justify its membership in the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World association.
