Milan Pride
About This Event
Milano Pride is Italy's largest Pride in the north, often rivaling Rome's as the country's biggest. Organized by CIG Arcigay Milano, it's a event with a clear mission: Italy still lacks marriage equality, and same-sex parents face recognition issues. This frustration is palpable during the parade, which has the city council's backing, but not the Lombardy regional government's.
Pride Week precedes the parade, packing talks, film, sports, and parties into a few days. Porta Venezia is the hub, with Via Lecco and Via Lazzaretto's bars spilling onto the streets every night. The parade itself starts at Via Vittor Pisani, near Stazione Centrale, and covers 3 km to the Arco della Pace in Sempione. A free closing concert follows, with Italian pop stars and drag hosts performing into the night. Watching the parade is free, but club after-parties require tickets.
It happens on the last Saturday of June. Late June in Milan is sweltering, so bring water and expect a late-afternoon start. Staying near Centrale or Porta Venezia puts you within walking distance of the parade start and the neighborhood's bars. Book your hotel early, as June is also trade-fair season.
The 2026 edition took place on Saturday, June 27, with the slogan "Corpi in Rivolta, in lotta per i diritti". Due to extreme heat, the start time was pushed back from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. Organizers expected 350,000 people, but local press reported a smaller crowd, blaming the heat. No official figure was released. The Comune di Milano gave its patronage, while the Lombardy Region refused. Artists like Arisa, Paola Turci, and Senhit performed on the main stage at the Arco della Pace. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
