What reviewers say

Visitors praise the venue for its fantastic atmosphere, great live drag shows, attentive staff, and well-prepared drinks, with some highlighting unique offerings like gluten-free beer. However, a significant recurring complaint concerns the unsanitary and damaged state of the bathrooms, with frequent issues of no toilet paper or soap and flooded floors. Some also note a disregard for the smoking ban on the dance floor.

About this place Be Queer

Be Queer is a gay bar and club located in Perugia, the historic capital of Umbria in central Italy. Situated on Str. di Montalcino, it serves as a welcoming social space for LGBTQ+ visitors and locals looking to connect and enjoy an evening out in this picturesque medieval city. Perugia offers a distinctly Italian experience with its Renaissance architecture and vibrant cultural scene, and this venue provides a dedicated LGBTQ+ gathering space within that context. As a gay bar and club, you can expect a social atmosphere designed for the community, though the specific vibe and offerings may vary depending on the evening. Whether you're looking for a casual drink, dancing, or simply a space to meet like-minded people, this is a local hub worth checking out. For the most current information about opening hours, special events, and what to expect on any given night, we recommend visiting their website at bequeer.it or contacting them directly. Being located in a smaller city rather than a major urban center, it's worth planning ahead to ensure you visit when the venue is open and lively.

I go to Bequeer often, so I've gotten a general idea of the problems there. 1: The bathrooms are completely destroyed and unsanitary (there's no toilet paper or soap, and the floor is always flooded). I always bring disinfectant wipes before going. 2: The music isn't the best. If I go to a queer club, I expect pop and reggaeton music that's in keeping with the night, not remixed techno until 5 AM. Invest in a good DJ. 3: There's complete confusion about what this place is. Constantly tolerating and encouraging the use of inhalants and certain explicit acts, both in the bathrooms and in the club, creates a degraded atmosphere. This permissiveness only ends up licensing and attracting bad guys who feel entitled to harass the boys and girls on the dance floor, taking advantage of the chaos. The absurd thing is that security tolerates this total lack of protection and respect for customers, but if you smoke a cigarette, they'll catch you right away. Security's priorities should be much higher. 4: Drink prices are too high, but that can be overlooked. This is a place created to make the queer community feel accepted and safe; it's not a private club for more intimate activities. Anyone looking for that kind of environment should go to the designated places. Certain things have changed significantly for the worse in recent times, and that's a shame.

Clean place where no strange substances are circulating, attention from all the staff and top music and shows.
