What reviewers say

Visitors praise Hotel Umbria for its extremely central location in Perugia's historic center and the friendly, courteous staff who often go out of their way to help. However, many guests note that the rooms and bathrooms are very small, and some found the hotel to be basic and lacking modern amenities like an elevator or air conditioning.

The hotel is located on a side street in the historic center and is quite convenient to get to. The rooms are spacious and very clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and always available. The prices are reasonable, and we were also very satisfied with the breakfast. I recommend it.

Pros: Central location (but down a long flight of steps); tidy rooms with comfortable mattress & pillow, and a thick curtain for the window; daily room-cleaning; good shower pressure; one of the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Cons: Small bathroom; very small shower; the towels have no towelling (they are more take table-cloths!); breakfast not available before 8am; one of the staff was decidedly unhelpful (e.g. at breakfast he would say "Your coffee is ready" instead of bringing it three paces to your table); I booked a double bed, but got two singles pushed together. Overall, a good no-frills budget option.
