BLOCK Hotel Gozo Malta

I stayed here for a week with my girlfriend. Beautiful and clean rooms and really helpful staff made our stay amazing. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We came with my girlfriend for the weekend for the marathon and, honestly, even though it’s our second time, we were once again amazed by how friendly the staff is. From check-in to lunch at the front restaurant, the food was exquisite, the cocktails excellent (speaking from experience), and Alex’s service was outstanding. He was attentive to everything, always smiling, and so kind that it made us want to keep coming back for more. He truly made us feel at home. The night before the race, I couldn’t eat anything from the menu, and they prepared a special meal for me — something I really appreciated, both from the waiter who helped us and the kitchen staff. The service at the pool bar was excellent as well; both the cocktails and the food were top-notch, just like the service. The burgers are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Snow White pizza was so good that we had to order it two days in a row. Thanks to all the staff, especially the receptionist Sanja, and also to those whose names we didn’t get the chance to ask — it truly was an incredible weekend thanks to all of you. The facilities were also very clean and modern. 10/10 in every way!

We had a good stay at Block. The room is not big, but not as small as a typical London hotel room. The windows only go to a ventilation shaft. But the bed is big and comfortable andre the shower has lovely hot water and pressure. The crew is very helpful and friendly. The location in Xlendi is great. I also appreciate that they reach out about the small rooms after booking. But please be aware that the noise of the party on ground and top floor is intense, also in the rooms. They stop at midnight sharp, but if you want to go to bed before that, you cannot be a light sleeper. All in all: would stay again, as long as I'm in a party mood.

At the BLOCK hotel I found friends in Gozo (in particular, where I stayed for a month). It was a unique holiday, full of problems and the girl who works at the reception helped me a lot and I really don't know how to thank her. A heartfelt thank you goes to the hotel staff without a doubt, but a heartfelt thank you goes to Mia.

As long as you familiarize yourself with the offerings of Block, Front, Above, and Ritual beforehand, you can definitely get your money's worth. After some initial skepticism about whether I could fall asleep with the bass in my ears, and a move to a quieter apartment, I found it very pleasant. The service is top-notch. I think the combination of the bar and restaurant, the kitchen in the apartment, the attached dive shop, and especially the live music evenings is very well done. I was there in January and can recommend it :-)

Amazing place to stay, especially if you combine it with RITUAL diving. I was even allowed to have a shover after my checkout because I dived. Recommend!

Dive with Ritual, stay somewhere else! While everything looks quite stylish on the internet, this hotel is not exactly what I would be looking for when having a relaxed dive holiday. 1) It's incredibly noisy! As others have written before, you can actually hear the music/karaoke/party in every room, even with your windows closed. Sometimes I couldn't even sleep with earplugs in! (When I told the staff, they shrugged it off saying "It's lively.") 2) The rooms are somewhat dark and stuffy. The bedroom just has a tiny window that opens up to an interior shaft. This lets the noise in (see above), but barely makes for a breeze. The balcony has a concrete walls/railing so high up that you can't even see the street. Barely any hangers to dry your dive stuff. 3) We arrived in the middle of the night and were quite thirsty. The shops had already closed, so we bought water off Front. They charge you TEN TIMES as much for water as the shop and there is not even a small bottle of complementary water in the room. 3) They sometimes needed 45 minutes in the morning just for a toast with jam. This makes you a little nervous if you have some dives scheduled... Go somewhere else, get a good night's sleep, relax, pay even less. ;)

The staff at this hotel truly set it apart and made our stay exceptional. From the friendly bar staff at the front bar to the welcoming reception team, everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, including our dog Theo. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in was spotless and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary drinks offered upon check-in, which we enjoyed at the front bar. The hotel is very pet-friendly, and it was clear that the staff views themselves as part of a close-knit team, making us feel like we were joining their extended family. The only downside was the area around Xlendi, which can feel a bit rundown early in the morning and late at night, with some individuals who might seem a little out of place. However, parking is easily accessible, and we had no trouble finding a spot near the hotel. Overall, I would absolutely consider staying here again on my next visit to Gozo.

Excellent service from the staff. More than happy to help. Excellent food, good value for money. Exceptionally clean rooms. Great location, bus services just outside the hotel. Lovely walks nearby. This hotel has to be the place to stay.

A nice hotel in this village. It's a shame to have to pay €2 for the first 50cl bottle of water to fill the coffee maker. The pool was too cold for swimming.
