Bar Food Cafe Den Enghel

Very friendly staff. Good service and a cozy atmosphere. We had a delicious meal here tonight with our family. The food exceeded our expectations and is better than you'd expect in a regular pub.

Rude owner! We walked past and there were a lot of empty seats that weren't even being used for the restaurant. There were barely any people there it was not dinner time. My stomach was hurting really bad so I sat down for a quick rest on one of the obviously not in use chairs far from the restaurant I was not aware the chairs were owned by the restaurant. Owner immediately comes out to ask what I was doing. My friend who walked past before me told me he put his bag down on one of the obviously empty tables outside to put something in his bag for literally a minute and he was also rudely told to order or leave. Feels like you can't even stand near the restaurant without the owner getting upset. Will never eat here.

I was thrown out of this cafe. The staff were extremely unpleasant. The old man with the white hair was especially unpleasant. He was downright rude. When I walked past this cafe, I sat down on a bench to rest. There were plenty of benches on the street, and they were all free. The waiter asked if I wanted to order something. I said I just wanted to rest. Then he threw me out. They just threw me out. I wasn't bothering anyone and sat on the edge. There was plenty of free space. Now I understand why. I will never visit this cafe again because the service is unfriendly.

Owner very rude

I've never eaten here, but I don't on principle. In the past four years, I've walked in twice to ask if I could use the restroom (for a fee). The first time, I was over 30 weeks pregnant, and when I asked if I could use the restroom because I was about to burst, I was rudely asked, "What would you like to drink?" After I indicated I was happy to pay for the restroom, the bartender asked again in an unfriendly tone what I wanted to drink. I left. Last November, during the Sinterklaas arrival, my 3-year-old daughter had to pee. Unfortunately, we were standing across from this cafe. I already knew, but thought I'd ask anyway, maybe they'd be friendlier to children. But no, my 3-year-old daughter was absolutely not allowed to use the restroom (for a fee). The result? She missed the arrival because we had to find another store. I can't say anything about the food or anything, but after being treated like this twice while I twice offered to just pay for use, I find it very unfriendly, and I don't feel the need to spend any more money on it.
