About this place Bar Nate

Bar Nate opened on 1 June 2025 in the corner room that used to be Brug34, and kept the idea the street liked: a gay bar that works all day. Mornings and afternoons it runs as a café — good coffee, laptops tolerated — and from early evening it shifts into cocktails. It sits on Utrechtsestraat a few doors from Lellebel, which makes this small block the quiet alternative to the Reguliersdwarsstraat crowds: drag cabaret on one corner, conversation-volume drinks on the other. The crowd is local first, visitors second, and the owners are usually behind the bar — introduce yourself and you will be a regular by the second visit.

Best chai latter I have ever had! Food was good and the people were polite.

We had to wait about 30 minutes for our brunch, which was disappointing. The waiter was unfriendly didn’t even respond when we said goodbye. We also weren’t informed in advance that it wasn’t possible to split the bill, which came as an unpleasant surprise.

My partner and I shared the beef croquettes on sourdough and the chicken sandwich and they were both so tasty! The service was perfect from Marco as well! Will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
