Central Hotel Gdańsk

Great location, clean room, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast.

We stayed at Central Hotel Gdańsk and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building right next to the railway station, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The room was clean and cozy, with incredibly high ceilings and excellent lighting that created a very comfortable atmosphere. The hotel itself was quiet and peaceful. With the windows open, you could sometimes hear the trains, but once the windows were closed, the room was perfectly quiet. There was a large wardrobe for clothes and luggage, as well as a small safe for valuables. The minibar included both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with snacks. The hotel also has its own restaurant and brewery. You can even order their craft beer to your room and have it served cold upon check-in, which was a really nice touch.

The windows aren't airtight. I didn't sleep all night. The only problem is that the windows aren't airtight, and the rooms lack soundproofing. So, restaurant noises or even conversations outside are completely audible. I'm not talking about traffic, but a normal conversation outside the hotel, while a guest sleeping in their room can hear everything a passerby says. I recommend that the owner sleep in a hotel on the first floor for one night, and I'll delete the comment. And breakfast on Sunday morning. All foreign guests, no complaints. I can see their surprise that there's no bread or cheese. Outside the door, including the receptionist, two breakfast staff members and the receptionist are chatting. After my reaction about the lack of bread and cheese, they got up from their chairs and started working.

Good location and nice rooms. Breakfast ok. Service at first quite good, they made a mistake with the payment which we only noticed afterwards at home. They charged too much, we asked for breakfast for one morning, they charged for two (4 people €60), we even went to the reception to ask what was wrong with the bill when it was more than we thought. They just talked about city differences, and the receipt that came to the email did not separate what we had paid for, only the final amount. We found small receipts at home where they were separated and it was noticed that there were a little too many breakfasts. We contacted them and they still claimed that we had eaten on two days even though we only went on one. They refused to pay us back.

Everything was going great until we realized we had been charged for two breakfasts instead of one. They claimed we had eaten both mornings and refused to refund the money. We sent another email when we got home but only got a rude response. Absolutely unbelievable behavior! The total was now only 30 euros but what a deal!

A decent hotel, like any other, with its pros and cons. + Location: central, near the station square. Breakfasts are varied and delicious. Craft beer is delicious at the hotel bar; it's a shame there's no discount for guests. The room is clean, the bed is soft, and there's a bottle of drinking water in the room. - The train track is nearby. If your windows face it and you're a light sleeper, you'll hear the trains whirring after 4:30 AM; not loud, but audible. Soundproofed entrance doors. A noisy group of people stayed across from our room, and it was impossible to sleep until they quieted down. In the business room, there's a curtain instead of a shower door. This doesn't detract from the service, but it does spoil the view. Parking: We were unlucky; we left our car near the hotel building after paying €61 for two days of hotel parking and then paid a €42 fine for unpaid parking. It turned out the parking lot was further away from the hotel, not next to the building. It was disappointing that the hotel staff didn't even warn us. We won't be returning to this hotel again.

Genuinely the nicest hotel I've had the pleasure of visiting. All the staff we spoke to, without exception, were absolutely lovely! The cleaning staff had an incredible attention to detail and we felt extremely welcome the entire experience. I do wish we booked more time off and will at the very least visit again!
