Review by a Frenchman visiting Portugal If you're not in a hurry and you enjoy good food in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. At first glance, it doesn't look like much (the storefront isn't inviting), but once inside, the culinary experience begins. The food is breathtaking, the waiter is pleasant and attentive, and speaks several languages ​​(not fluently, but you get by very well). The menus are translated. I highly recommend it.

There are many ‘hidden gems’ in Porto, but Za is the topmost. The food is expertly cooked, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is akin to having been invited into a Portuguese home. I’m happy to share this discovery as with only 10 tables it’s unlikely to be overrun. Book in advance by WhatsApp and enjoy!

The best restaurant I've eaten at since coming to Portugal. The octopus rice was so delicious, and the skewers were cooked perfectly, making them truly tasty.

An insanely good restaurant. I hadn't even tried seafood rice before after a disappointing experience in Lisbon, but here I had the real deal. It smells like Jin Jjamppong, but it isn't spicy. If you want something a bit spicier, you can request a spice sauce; they give you chili oil (not the spicy kind). It seems homemade, and surprisingly, it has just the right amount of spiciness. Adding a spoonful to the seafood rice really upgrades the flavor. For the seafood rice, you should order the Octopus Rice. If you prefer pasta noodles with shrimp instead of rice, you can order the Seafood Pasta. The quality of the pollo and meat is better than at any other restaurant I've been to, and above all, the seasoning of the food is absolutely amazing. My husband and I had a massive feast with meat, seafood rice, pollo, mushroom appetizers, one sangria, and four glasses of green wine. Sangria has a mild alcohol taste and is made with fresh fruit, making it light and refreshing to drink like a beverage, so I recommend ordering it as your first drink. (In fact, every table was having at least one glass.) Since it is run by a husband and wife, food takes at least 30 minutes to prepare after ordering, but the wait is well worth it, so I recommend visiting if you have the time. It is one of the top five restaurants my husband and I visited during our 12-night trip to Portugal.

Authentic from start to finish! I've rarely eaten such delicious prawns. The cooking here is truly excellent, bravo! 👏 And the dessert, Nata de Céu (made by the chef), perfectly rounded off the wonderful experience! By the way: the restrooms are top-notch! 👍

I thought octopus was only supposed to be tender, but here I experienced the true flavor of pollo. The seafood pasta gets a perfect score.. The homemade green wine is also super delicious.. The pollo and seafood pasta were so good that I ended up ordering another one of each along with a bottle of green wine.......... With this pollo, I am graduating from pollo. It will be remembered as the best pollo of my life.
