A wonderful discovery, where you can truly feel the passion the entire team has poured into their culinary project. Surprising and delicious, from the first course to the last. And on my second visit, it was just as excellent as the first time. Keep up the great work! Congratulations!

Very disappointing experience at La Sosenga today. Of the nine dishes, the only meat or seafood was a single prawn, a few small pieces of cod, and a very small piece of rabbit, with everything else being vegetarian. We have no issue with vegetarian food, but the small portions and lack of protein meant we left the restaurant hungry, after paying over 200 euros for our dinner. The desserts were also very disappointing, including a blue cheese and truffle dish that was unpleasant, and a pickled cucumber sorbet that did not taste like a dessert at all. The best thing about the meal was the bread, my husband had a second portion as he was so hungry. When I gave feedback at the end of the meal, the response was very defensive, and two people from the restaurant followed us outside to argue with us, which was extremely uncomfortable. Overall, a very poor experience and we would not return.

When someone does a job they are passionate about, it shows in every aspect of the service. From the wonderful explanations of each dish, the wine pairings and, of course, the exquisiteness of the dishes. A god in service, a god in the preparation, a god in the premises and a god in the welcome. Without a doubt, one of the best experiences I have had in a long time.

A great discovery! Set menu for 38 euros made with unusual care. You have to go there anyway. Book in advance.

Five stars, and I do not give those out easily in the Gothic Quarter, where plenty of places coast on foot traffic alone. What sets La Sosenga apart is the sourcing. Everything is organic and bought directly from local producers, which is a claim a lot of restaurants make and very few can actually back up on the plate. Here you taste it immediately. The vegetables have real character rather than the flat, cold storage sweetness you get almost everywhere else, and the menu clearly shifts with what the suppliers had that week rather than with what a distributor could deliver in bulk. That kind of short supply chain costs money and effort, and it shows in both the flavour and the consistency. Special mention for the Wine selection. The room is small and unpretentious, the service knows the products and can tell you where each one comes from without reciting a script. Prices sit in the 30 to 50 euro range, which for this level of sourcing in central Barcelona is fair rather than expensive. They stay open until 23:00, but the place fills up fast, so book ahead, especially at weekends.
