Hotel Indigo Gandia - Beach by IHG

Brand new. Nicely decorated.

My partner and I decided to stay at this hotel. We found it very nice, modern, and comfortable. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and varied. The room, with its lovely terrace, was comfortable. We were very happy with our experience.

Great location, very pleasing on the eyes, modern designs, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Good size pool, lovely designed garden. Had a problem with a smelly room, was sorted out the next day. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - no self service buffet, they have what they call a la carte buffet. From the warm dishes you can order only one, which we experienced as limiting, and unlimited order from the cold dishes. Quality of the food is very good.

I'm writing this review with immense indignation and a feeling of being cheated. I booked this hotel because it advertises itself as 'dog-friendly,' but the reality is quite the opposite. The truth is, they conceal severe restrictions, and it wasn't until I was already here that I learned of their truly absurd rules. If they had provided this information transparently before I paid, I would never have booked this hotel. Their policy is utter nonsense: Jagger, my pet, can only stay in the room. He's not allowed in any common areas, not even an open outdoor terrace with direct access from the street and no connection to the hotel's interior. When I went to complain about this ridiculous prohibition in an open-air space, the staff resorted to the "free card" of citing other guests' supposed 'allergies and phobias' as an excuse. It's an excuse that seems completely improvised and false. I thoroughly reviewed the terms and conditions, and this supposed rule is not written anywhere in the hotel's or the group's pre-contractual information, nor is it specified anywhere when you're booking and paying for the room. In other words, they invent restrictions behind the customer's back, which borders on breach of contract. They charge a supplement for pets, selling a false sense of hospitality, but then they impose hidden limitations. For them, the animal is a nuisance that must stay locked up, not a member of the family. On top of this, their management is completely inflexible and not at all dog-friendly: they monitor your schedule to know when the dog leaves the room so they can clean, but they don't offer a single service for the pet. Even though the hotel is right across from the beach, they don't have a single water point or hose available to rinse the sand off the animal. They don't care about the well-being of the dog or the families who travel with them. It's a complete rip-off. A major disappointment that I wouldn't recommend to anyone who truly wants to travel with their pet on equal terms and to a genuinely dog-friendly hotel. HOTEL ÍNDIGO Gandia, this isn't being dog-friendly; this is profiting from accepting pets without offering anything in return. Finally, I want to make it very clear that my complaint isn't because I want to change the hotel's rules; every establishment is free to set its own rules. My outrage stems from the fact that I was DECEIVED. I made the reservation by phone, speaking directly with an operator from the IHG group (to which the hotel belongs). During that call, they made it very clear that they didn't accept dogs over 25 kg, so they had an obligation to inform me of these strict restrictions. I would have accepted and respected their rules if they had told me from the beginning, but they didn't. Hiding this until the customer arrives at the hotel to confirm the reservation is an intolerable lack of honesty. A complete disappointment.

A perfect 10 experience. The hotel is beautiful, we loved the decor, the room with a sea view was a dream, the restaurant and pool were spectacular, and the exquisite service we received was the best part. Ainoa served us in the restaurant with great professionalism and friendliness, recommending excellent dishes and wines. Maite, with her warmth, made us feel right at home, and of course, the hotel manager, Eduardo, was attentive to our every need, taking care of every detail. We can't wait to return.

Thank you so much for this lovely, albeit brief, stay. The hotel is spectacular, and the room had everything we needed to enjoy it comfortably. I would especially like to highlight the attention of the reception team, particularly Belén, David, and the night shift worker, for their kindness and professionalism. I also want to mention Ainhoa ​​and Loli from the breakfast service, who were always attentive and friendly. At the pool bar, both Jordi and the woman on the afternoon shift (please excuse me for not remembering her name) provided excellent service. And, of course, thank you to the manager, Eduardo, for making us feel so well taken care of throughout our stay. You have definitely left us wanting to return.

A spectacular experience from beginning to end. The hotel is right on the beachfront, which makes for incredible views, whether of the sea or the pool. The rooms are very spacious and, above all, super quiet, perfect for relaxing. The staff is another highlight: everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive at all times. The room had air conditioning and a fan, which is so appreciated for a comfortable night's sleep. The shower is excellent, and a detail I loved was the bathrobes, which were super soft (you can even buy them!). Breakfast was next level: everything was delicious, but the eggs Benedict were spectacular. I would definitely return without hesitation.
