Buddies, on the ground floor of Yumbo Centre in Playa del Inglés, is a gay-owned bar that keeps a mixed crowd happy all day.
You can get a casual drink, a cocktail, or a full meal here. The vibe is easy, and the prices won’t make you wince.
They’ve got a good range of beers and spirits, and cocktails come out all day. So if you want a morning coffee, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a place to settle in for the evening, it works. The staff is friendly, too, which helps make it an easygoing spot for anyone.
Playa del Inglés is one of Gran Canaria’s big LGBTQ+ destinations, and Yumbo Centre is the main drag for gay nightlife and eating. Buddies fits right in. It’s a social gay bar where you can also grab a bite, a place you can pop into for an hour or stay for longer, whether you’re warming up for a bigger night or just want something relaxed.

The food was good and the service was excellent. Very friendly staff.
Best cocktails and service. Excellent 10 out of 10. Alexandre is spectacular! If you’re in GC come on Friday for the drag quiz
I had been to Buddies before, but today I came and ate the Chicken & Mushroom pie with chips and peas and I must share with people that it is exceptional! Home made chips (not frozen) and a pie with delicious pastry, great chicken and mushroom inside. And Sarsons malt vinegar. I must also recommend Jonty who is a lovely waiter!!!
Lovely breakfast but really expensive for what you get I was still hungry after it. Full English is small for 9.95. most expensive English breakfast I have found in gran canaria and I live here. They also forgot the tomatoe so for the price one bacon two sausages one hash brown one toast and beans. Mad price! Not even a free tea or coffee 😂
Had a breakfast twice here on my trip and fell in love! Great recommendations on where to go at night. Great food. Great drinks. Supports local businesses and tourism. Make this a major stop on your journey through Gran Can
