About this place Chez Funny Boy’s

Chez Funny Boy's is a gay bar in Playa del Inglés's Yumbo Center, known for its nightly interactive shows.

Most nights, the entertainment here means you're part of the show, not just watching it. Expect to be pulled into the action.

Playa del Inglés, on Gran Canaria, has long been a go-to spot for LGBTQ+ travelers. The Yumbo Center alone has dozens of gay bars and clubs.

If you want to spend an evening where the line between performer and audience blurs, Funny Boy's is a good bet. Check their site for the night’s schedule.

I am 62, I first came here at 19, pre Yumbo, I have loved Chez Funny Boys since its existence. My last trip two years ago for my 60th was amazing. Tina. Cher, Whitney, Shirley, and fabulous show girls. You had to wait and fight for a table. Last night, absolutely dead, 2 people, 1230am, Drag, could do better with a wet towel and a shower curtain. But, why was it dead... Whiskey and coke €10 .., ...why is it so expensive? Was the drag terrible because it was Monday....extremely sad was always the highlight of my holiday, every night for 14 days...I'm getting old. I died a wee bit ladt night..just terrible..

The show starts at 12, and depending on which drag queens are performing, some days are weaker and others are really strong. The level of performance by Wendy Superstar and Isabela y Punto (especially Isabela) the day we went was EPIC. Each show gets better. We had a great time. The service is excellent. By the way, the bathroom attendant even has PayPal so you can tip her.

Like many nights, I spent a great evening with my partner at Funny Boys, one of my go-to places, thanks to the quality of their shows and their respect for the audience. Tonight, I took my youngest and most important child to experience a night of diversity, which he absolutely loved. They treated him like a VIP; when he needed to use the restroom, they gave him a private one so my son could have maximum safety, hygiene, and privacy. That alone won me over. We'll be back.
