What reviewers say

Visitors praise the Beach of Meliana for being a quiet, clean, and wide sandy beach with clear, shallow water, offering a relaxed family atmosphere and good space for activities. However, a common complaint is the lack of amenities such as lifeguards (at least in May and June), restrooms, showers, and shops.

About this place Beach of Meliana

Just outside Valencia, in Meliana, this stretch of beach is a well-known meeting spot for the local LGBTQ+ community.

It’s an outdoor cruising area, more relaxed than a traditional bar or club. People come for the natural setting, and to meet others without much fuss.

These kinds of places are important, especially in areas with fewer dedicated LGBTQ+ venues. There are no set hours, so encounters happen when they happen. Just remember to be mindful of local norms, and always look out for yourself.

If you're in Valencia and want to see how the local LGBTQ+ community connects, this beach is one way. Check with local LGBTQ+ groups or online forums for the latest info on visiting times and any community expectations. And, of course, be respectful of the beach itself and everyone else there.

Located north of Port Saplaya, a few kilometers from Valencia. There is parking available. A very quiet beach with a family atmosphere. I visited in May and June and there were no lifeguards on duty. However, the sea slopes gently, so it's not very deep. Another thing to consider is that the beach doesn't have restrooms or any shops where you can buy drinks or food, so it's advisable to keep this in mind before visiting.
