Orgullo Mijas

Orgullo Mijas is the municipality's LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, launched in 2024 when Mijas joined Andalusia's Red de Municipios Orgullosos (Network of Proud Municipalities). Held around International Pride day in late June, the programme includes a rainbow flag-raising at the town hall, a manifesto read together with the Federacion Andalucia Diversidad, cultural performances and family-friendly activities across Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas and La Cala de Mijas. It is a civic, community-driven celebration rather than a large parade-and-floats circuit Pride, reflecting the town's welcoming, inclusive character.
