Malmö Pride

Malmö Pride is southern Sweden's main Pride, a four-day festival in early July. It started in 1995 as Regnbågsfestivalen (the Rainbow Festival), took the Malmö Pride name in 2015 when the current member-run nonprofit was founded, and marked 30 years in 2025. In 2021 Malmö co-hosted WorldPride and EuroPride with Copenhagen, across the Øresund bridge.

Pride Park in Folkets Park, the city's historic people's park by Möllevången, is the hub, with stages, concerts, a queer market and food stalls, plus a Youth Pride programme. The parade gathers at Lördagsplan, passes Triangeln and Möllevångstorget and ends at the main entrance of Folkets Park. Copenhagen is about 35 minutes away by train, so the two cities make one easy trip.

The 2026 festival ran 1 to 4 July. SVT has reported police estimates of 7,000 to 8,000 marchers in one year and over 10,000 in another, but we couldn't tie either figure to a specific year. The 2027 summer dates hadn't been announced when we checked; the organisers have set a separate Malmö Winter Pride for 23 January 2027.
