Violence Prevention – How Can We Prevent Violence?
About the event
Last year, SP Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider launched a national campaign against gender-based violence – in response to the persistently alarming figures on femicides and domestic violence. Since criminal prosecution often comes too late, prevention measures are an important building block to counteract the current epidemic of violence.
In the first part of our event series "Combating Gender-Based Violence," we want to analyze and illuminate patriarchal power and violence structures more closely. Building on this, we will discuss possible effective prevention measures and how we can create the necessary political framework conditions for them.
