Zurich Pride
About This Event
Zurich Pride is the city's yearly LGBTQ+ demonstration. Christopher Street Day marches have taken place in Zurich since 1994, and after the city hosted EuroPride in 2009 the event was rebranded as the Zurich Pride Festival. Normally that means a Saturday march through the city plus a two-day open-air festival on the Landiwiese by the lake.
In 2026 there was no festival. In February the volunteer association behind it voted by a large majority to cancel the festival. Swissinfo reported debts from earlier years, about CHF 150,000 in lost sponsorship for 2025, and a CHF 1.1 million budget that a volunteer board could no longer carry. Members had already rejected a smaller, paid-entry version at Turbinenplatz. The association says it wants to bring the festival back in 2027.
The march still took place, on 20 June 2026. For the first time it went down Bahnhofstrasse, starting at Paradeplatz and finishing with speeches on the Landiwiese. The association announced the motto as "Protect Trans Youth – Zugang schafft Zukunft", and some reports on the day gave it as "Protect queer youth". SDA reported several tens of thousands of people, and there were no reported incidents. The march is free and anyone can join.
The last full festival was on 20 and 21 June 2025, under the motto "Together for our health". The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked; the march is usually on a Saturday in mid or late June. Zurich hotels are expensive all year, so book early.
