About this place The Palmerston

The Palmerston in Edinburgh is a welcoming spot for LGBTQ+ travellers seeking a friendly dining experience. While not exclusively a gay venue, it is known for its inclusive atmosphere. Visitors have praised the food, describing it as simple yet excellent with great flavour, with some even returning for coffee and cake. While most experiences are positive, some guests have noted issues with noise levels and table spacing, with music sometimes being too loud. The price range is moderate, reflected by a 4.5/5 Google rating from over 900 reviews. It's a place where you can enjoy a satisfying meal, but be aware that the atmosphere can be lively.

Best restaurant I've tried in Scotland. Superlative food, perfectly cooked. Nice wine list, very friendly and welcoming service. A whole other level compared to other restaurants.

Service: slow and rude. Time between entree and app took 45 minutes. Hard to flag servers for drinks etc. Had a table reservation but got seated at the bar with no exceptions. Food: good but nothing to write home about. Had the prix fixed 2 course (cauliflower & tagliatelle). Tagliatelle was especially bland. Takeaway: not worth spending your money at. The bread and butter was the best part of the meal.

Had a great time and the food was the delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely helpful and recommended a few whisky's for me to try. I will hopefully be back the next time I visit Edinburgh
