About this place Invicta Hotel

The Invicta is a 23-room hotel in a Grade II listed terrace on Lockyer Street, built as traders' houses in 1840 and a hotel since the late 1800s. It looks over Hoe Park, so the promenade and Smeaton's Tower are a few minutes' walk away. Parking costs £10 a night, subject to space. It is now owned by the family that runs the Drake Hotel next door. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue. The Swallow and Sappho's on Bretonside and OMG on the Barbican are the places to go for the city's small queer scene.
