About this place Pride in Plymouth

Pride in Plymouth is the community group behind the city's LGBTQ+ history work, separate from the people who run the Pride march. It came out of the Pride in Our Past heritage project, which held an exhibition at Plymouth City Museum in 2012, and it looks after the Plymouth LGBT Archive. It also ran the 2012 Pride festival in Devonport Park. It still publishes local queer history, such as Plymouth's first Pride parade in August 2009, led by Peter Tatchell, and the Lockyer Tavern, a gay meeting place from the 1950s to the 1970s. If you want the city's queer history, start here. There's no public office.
