Thuringerhof Hotel

Worst hotel experience ever. I am ill and unable to carry anything. Firstly there is no lift, so i had to literally drag my suitcase up the stairs. Secondly no hot water in the showers, no phone working in the room, the kettle is broken. And when i got hold of someone the guy told me i could use the room across the hall to shower… pathetic!! And that at R1400 per night…. DO NOT STAY HERE

The room was dirty, the bed was not changed down. The bath tub faucet doesn’t work. Walls and curtains dusty and dirty with stains. Bin in the bathroom was not cleared out. It’s a non smoking but other guests were smoking in the rooms which spread to other rooms. Limited menu and limited drinks. It was a lot. Good luck

The stuff are friendly and very helpful. The food is average. Love the centre garden situation going on there..very nice just needs proper garden like seats. The reception is lovely, they should consider extending the tiles from that floor all the way to the 2nd floor and remove the carpets they are dirty and smelly. Revamp the rooms to a modern look. The outside wall needs to be revamped and put in an elevator, theres nothing cute with climbing stairs. Would also make a great part or wedding venue

Hotel was horrible. The staff is friendly. Food is bad and prices are high. Towels are crummy and stiff. Bath tub is wrong way round so your head hits the tap. Carpets are crummy, dirty and smelly. Elevator is broken so stairs keep you fit. Walls are cracked in the room. TV remote doesn't work. Tap water was yellow. Toilet was dirty and stained. As someone that loves travel I have experienced bad hotels but this one takes the cake. This evening the cleaning ladies forgot to replace the bath towel. So I had to use a hand towel, should've looked before getting in the tub 😮. Area is bit dodgy at night so don't walk after 8. Ps. Don't peel back the sheets..

Reasonable price and just around the corner on the bus station. Staff were excellent and even carried our heavy bags from the station right into our room. Surprisingly large room and Kingsize bed. More than worth the price! 5/5
