Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and had every comfort we could ask for—plus a private deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee while listening to birdsong. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable, from arranging boat trips on the Knysna Lagoon to recommending the best local restaurants (try their braai nights—delicious!). The location is ideal—close enough to explore Knysna’s attractions (like the Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve) but secluded enough to feel like a private retreat. Waking up to the sounds of the forest and ending the day with a sunset over the water was pure bliss. Bamboo Lodge is full of charm and character — just like its leafy namesake. It’s been inspiring to see how much love and creativity is going into the improvements. You can feel the care in every corner. Can’t wait to come back and see what’s grown next!

A very interesting lodge! Originally connected by wooden walkways through a tropical garden. The lodges are absolutely beautiful! One drawback: sometimes you have to lug your suitcase around…unless you get help, of course. The hosts were very friendly, and Anthea, in particular, was incredibly hospitable and helpful.

Wow!!! Wow!!! Wowwww!!! Stayed in 2011 for honeymoon, and now again in 2024 with the kids. Nothing compares to Bamboo Guest house and the amazing gardens.

My partner and I spent two nights at this lovely location. The tranquil and peaceful setting made for an extremely pleasant and relaxing get away and escape from the usual busy day to day life. Debbie and Scott were extremely friendly and accommodating showing their passion for their lovely spot. The breakfast was delicious and everything you need to get your day started. We are looking forward to our next stay. Thank you to Scott and Debbie
