Big Table

Having been to TBT at least 6 times previously we were looking forward to their reopening. Very disappointed. No corn fritters on a Saturday now and the omelette was just scrambled eggs with some vegetables. Better coffees elsewhere too. Real pity as we used to recommend it to friends.

Sorry to say but this place used to be so good, and now it's just very, very, average. Coffee is apalling and the once fantastic breakfast is long gone. Overcooked scrambled eggs, and cold toast - no thanks. Service? Uum what service - they couldn't wait to be done with the interaction as fast as possible. It's heartbreaking to see what used to be an absolute Adelaide Central Market icon go downhill.

After years of flawless breakfast visits to Big Table, our recent experience left us incredibly disappointed. The cafe is currently renovating next to the mettwurst shop and has no signage, making it easy to miss. Unfortunately, the service was highly unprofessional. Our server was wearing headphones and chewing gum with his mouth open, forcing us to repeat our order several times. Despite the cafe being nearly empty, the food took a very long time to come out. Coffee was also not on par. The portions are now much smaller. While the salmon on toast was decent, the eggs on toast were poor quality— toast drenched in butter and dry, overdone, under-seasoned scrambled eggs instead of their usual fluffy style. Sadly, the standard has dropped significantly. It’s a real shame because we’ve loved this place for years, but we left feeling very disappointed.

Always a favourite when visiting the market. Great food, great prices and great service. Highly recommend 😁
