Cumquat House

Very accommodating, would recommend

Booked Cumquat House for my Step-Mum. She adored it. This place is a hidden jewel in the hills of Ipswich. A serene oasis. The Elmsworth Suite is beautiful. Highly recommend!! Just lovely.

I really enjoyed my stay at Cumquat House. The house itself is a beautiful, pre-World War One home and the rooms are very pleasantly decorated while retaining some original features. Each room has a balcony with table and chairs. The room was immaculately clean. I found the owner friendly and very helpful. The stairs are steep, which would be expected in an historic home, but the owner was happy to help with luggage. Cumquat House is situated in a very quiet, peaceful area, while being within a few minutes' drive of the CBD. This was my second stay and won't be my last.

The good: A historic building with old charm. Lovely rooms with raised ceilings, shared balconies, and great showers. Continental breakfast with bacon and eggs was included. Great staff. The bad: Old house problems with steep stairs up to the rooms and plumbing problems. Don't look under the beds as they are not cleaned.

Clean, comfortable and stylish. Well maintained historic building. Well appointed room, with a lovely balcony. Breakfast included, tho we didn't eat as we had other plans. Steep stairs to the room, suggest pack a smaller bag and leave big suitcases in your vehicle. Would stay again.

We have stayed before with the last managers. Was disappointed this time with Headley Adams. Bedhead was black and orange tiles with website in big bold lettering. Horrible considering how nice the room was. Breakfast 1st day we were told was 7 till 8am. We asked if we could have a bit later, manager said no. Asked if we would like toast or croissant and scrambled egg, no other choices. Cereal and juice was out on the table. Day 2 we came down for breakfast at 7.30. We had same as previous day as not given any choices. We finished just after 8am just as another couple came down for breakfast. They were offered poached eggs which I would have preferred over microwaved scrambled egg. Disappointing that new manager doesn't treat all guests the same. Shower was very small and water went all over the floor. Bath mat gets saturated.

Was a lovely historical building beautifully renovated. The only issue is not disability friendly, at least the room we stayed in upstairs wasn't. But the whole atmosphere was great, the room was large comfortable bed & nice balcony. Only issue with room was the bathroom was a bit dark, & noisy because fan came on with light, so was a bit unpleasant. But otherwise clean & comfortable.

Room was comfortable and quirky. Great location close to Ipswich showground and university campus. Nice to share breakfast table with other guests.

Beautiful old home turned into a bed and breakfast. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms are beautiful, clean and you get a little verandah 10/10
