Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen

We checked in on my birthday, and even though I messaged ahead to ask for a good room, no one said happy birthday. The room was not ready when we arrived, so we left our bags with the concierge. When we got back 2 hours later, our bags had not been brought to our room. Instead of being able to get our room card at reception, we had to go to the 37th floor with our suitcases, get our key card, and then go down to our room. Not 5-star service. We decided to stay in and get room service. The burger was cold and soggy, and the chips were cold and old. The laksa tasted weird and was inedible, and even the chocolate cake was not good. There was also a black hair on my towel and in the bath. There are no phone chargers next to the bed, which is annoying. Disappointed in this Shangri-La, we 100% will not be back.

We had a wonderful experience at Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen during our recent visit. The staff was highly attentive to our needs. We want to recognize Aiden Bai from the reception desk for his exceptional assistance in retrieving a clothing item that was inadvertently left behind on a flight to Shanghai Pudong Airport. He dedicated time to contact the airline and arrange its shipment to our destination. The hotel room was spacious and well-maintained. The concierge was helpful in guiding us on dinner options and arranging a taxi to the port. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Shenzhen.
