Bar 1or8 is a gay karaoke bar in Noge, the old drinking district in Naka Ward and the centre of Yokohama's small gay scene. It is bigger than the typical counter-only bar here and draws mostly locals in their 20s and 30s. Foreign visitors are generally accepted. Like most Japanese gay bars, it charges a cover that usually includes a first drink. It is about a five-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station. Quiet night, but barman and customers made me so welcome. First place I’d found that had English in their door sign (and honestly the first place that actually let a white guy in). Upstairs, which is a little daunting but normal here, but a cosy small bar. Had a great chat through broken English an google translate. Highly recommend for a laid back drink
