Hôtel Give

It's easily accessible by bus number 8 from Christchurch Airport. It's about a 10-minute walk from the city center, and nearby are the Arts Centre and Botanic Gardens. I stayed in a double room, which was clean, bright, and had excellent natural light. I was incredibly lucky to have a direct view of the Arts Centre from my window. There are multiple shared bathrooms, each with a toilet, shower, and sink – very convenient. There's also a laundry room and a kitchen. The common areas are warmly and comfortably decorated. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Christchurch!

Despite the name, this is more of a hostel than a hotel, as bathrooms are all shared, along with a communal kitchen and common areas. The single bed room was clean with a good balcony view, but pretty cramped. Also one big downside was the soundproofing, can sometimes hear the doors in the hallways slam at night, better bring earplugs.

It's not far from the airport, reasonably priced, clean, has convenient dining options nearby, and the surrounding architecture is quite beautiful.

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at the Give Hotel in Christchurch , and it was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the hotel is exceptionally well-located, making it very easy to explore the area. The rooms were consistently clean. However, we did encounter an issue with the housekeeping. Despite specifically requesting that our room be cleaned, the service was never performed. This was quite disappointing and definitely left something to be desired during an otherwise pleasant stay. While there are many great things about this hotel, the lack of attention to our service request was a letdown.

It's about a 15-minute walk from the city center. The room was very clean, and the shared bathroom was right next to the room, making it feel like a private bathroom. There was also a small balcony, which was super comfortable!

There are several shared toilets on each floor; the rooms don't have private toilets. However, this is consistent with the price. The toilets were fairly clean.

It consists of a shared kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is clean. It was nice to be able to get hot water without having to heat it up myself. There is a basket next to the refrigerator, which is useful for writing down room numbers and keeping them, but the basket required quite a bit of cleaning. The room is clean and designed for sleeping only. If you have a car, you must pay a parking fee. It was the first time I was charged a parking fee to a guest. I stayed for one night on March 13, 2026.

Location is perfect, next to the garden and church. Room is clean and price is reasonable. Shared kitchen is ready and full of utensils. Shared laundry room. Restroom and shower are clean, but they are shared too, a little bit inconvenient. Overall it is worth and a good experience
