Saturday nights are the busiest (and probably Fridays too?), but when I went on Sunday there were hardly any people. There are mostly Southeast Asians, but on Fridays and Saturdays there are a fair number of Koreans as well. There's also a cruising spot in Gangnam, and the crowds are about the same? Gangnam has more Koreans. The entrance fee is reasonable. I had fun with a local Korean guy and left right away. There are occasionally good-looking guys, but only occasionally.
I went on a Saturday night, and even though the neighborhood was packed with guys, this place was practically empty. The reason is obvious: it is completely neglected. There is no hot tub, and the dry sauna was unusable because it was filled with towels hung up to dry. The shower water was freezing cold; the staff claimed it was a temporary issue "just for today," but it’s clear this problem has been going on for a long time. To top it off, they only give you a small face towel at the entrance instead of a body towel. A complete waste of money.
This is not a bad place at all, there is a large revenue on Friday and Saturday as well as the place being moderately clean. The shower room is good and they provide toiletries. My only concern is the old man behind the desk like the other reviews have mentioned. During my long stay in Seoul I visited twice. The first time I was charged 25,000 won upon entry however the second time I was charged 27,000... The old man served me both times so it's not a case of it being two different men. Even if it was two different men, I would think i would ONLY be charged 25,000 won regardless. As I was getting changed into my towel, the old man kept on walking in and out of the locker room, He wasn't exactly doing anything important like unloading the washing or bringing items to different rooms, he was just watching me from across the room. Not only did it made me feel really uncomfortable I feel like it's unprofessional for staff to do this. Thankfully nothing was taken from my locker. Visitors should also be vigilant that some people bring their phones into the rooms when they aren't supposed to.
EXTREME SECURITY WARNING: Do not trust the lockers in this sauna. Be careful with the old man in the counter of the sauna. He opens lockers and rummages through people’s belongings. I believe he’s targeting wallets and cash. When he sees a small bag or pouch, he takes it and brings it into his private room—possibly to search for valuables like money, then returns it to the same locker he took it from. I’ve noticed him doing this multiple times with different lockers.
I saw someone write that staff members open lockers and steal money from customers. The owner should fire the employee who steals, and they should install security cameras in the locker area. I'm afraid to go to this place again! Oban gay sauna is the best for foreigners; it's popular and crowded, my favorite!
so bad. don’t waste your time and money
