Lumphini Park (Gay Cruising Area)

Lumphini Park, the big green lung at the top of the Silom–Sathorn business district, has a long-standing reputation as a discreet after-dark gay meeting spot, particularly around the wooded fringes and the quieter paths away from the lake. By day it is an ordinary, very busy public park full of joggers, tai-chi groups and families, so any activity is strictly a late-evening thing and much lower-key than in years past — regulars note the scene has faded since the 2010s. The park officially closes around 21:00 and is patrolled, so use discretion and common sense. Thailand is broadly welcoming to LGBTQ+ people — same-sex marriage became law in January 2025 — but public cruising still sits in a legal grey area, so keep it respectful and be aware of your surroundings.
