The Locals Chiang Mai

Throughout my week-long stay at this hotel, I was very impressed with both the friendly service and the tranquil, relaxing atmosphere. I could easily spend hours in the lobby reading in the afternoons and evenings without feeling tired. It's a place I felt very attached to and didn't want to leave.

A lovely hotel in the heart of things The most comfortable bed in the world!!!! The only downside is that the room is really small and it's not easy to get organized there, but other than that and for the price we paid, I highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful time here in late 2025 staying as two couples in two rooms for 5 nights. The rooms are pretty, if a tad small, and you have to take care not to let in the mosquitos by accident. Also, slightly thin walls, so you can hear the outside and neighbours a tad too often. Everything is clean and taken good care of. The service is absolutely kind and helpful.

I love how this hotel is located in a quiet area east of the old town square. The quaint little garden and the rustic old house beside it added to the relaxing vibe. You will be surrounded by various singing birds and cute squirrels running around the trees. My room is spacious and had all the amenities I needed with a small balcony overlooking the rustic house. The homey staff and the chill lobby is another plus. From here, you can walk to Tha Pae gate easily. Would love to book here again.

This place was a gem. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean and comfortable, the location was on a quieter street but only 5 min walk from street markets. We got breakfast with our booking and it was the best decision. They let you pick from the breakfast menu and made sure to have it ready for you the next morning at the time you want. The outside space is so calm and tranquil. Even had the most adorable little dog greeter at the desk that added to the charm of this place. You get more value with this place without spending what you would at the Marriott. Truly a wonderful find and we will come back next time in Chiang Mai.

This is a really cute and cozy hotel with a great mood. The atmosphere is warm, caring, and the staff are very friendly. They give great recommendations for places to visit in a local style. They are helpful, willing to lend things, and have a cheerful, friendly service. The room layout is good, with everything you need. The bed is so comfortable and the place is spotlessly clean. It's so nice to relax in such a nice place after a tiring day of sightseeing. Actually, this was a spur-of-the-moment trip, and I booked a different place without checking the reviews. When I saw the reviews, I was shocked! So I quickly looked for a new place. Luckily, I found this one. I'm so glad I did!

The interior was stylish, the courtyard was cute, and the rooms were clean, making it a very comfortable stay. It was also nice that there were free snacks, bananas, and coffee and tea in the lobby. Breakfast was available for an additional fee, and it was delicious. The front desk staff were always smiling, which was very nice. It was conveniently located in the city, with restaurants and currency exchange offices nearby. The only issues I had were that it was a little noisy outside the hotel at night and that the water from the shower in my room flowed into the toilet, but overall it was a very good stay. I would like to stay again.
