À propos de ce lieu Palm Beach Hotel

Palm Beach Hotel is a mainstream hotel on Pantai Kelapa, the Coconut Beach area in western Dili, Timor-Leste. It is listed as gay-friendly rather than as an LGBTQ+ venue. About 60 Google reviews average 4.4. Dili has a limited hotel supply, mostly used by aid workers and business visitors, so book ahead. Same-sex relations are legal in Timor-Leste and Dili has held small Pride marches in recent years, but the country is socially conservative and there is no gay bar scene.

We stayed here on three separate occasions during our time in TL. Every time was a pleasure. And we actively looked forward to returning here. The staff are absolutely amazing and friendly. They will do their best to help. The Filipina receptionists are efficient and welcoming. They will gladly keep any luggage you don’t need safely for your return. Responses to arrange airport pick up are very quick. They were always very prompt. If you need to leave early, they will bring a packed hot cooked breakfast to your room on time. We had a problem with air conditioning in our room one night and were told the maintenance staff had gone home (understandably). Lo and behold at 9:30 PM they actually came to fix the problem so that we could sleep well in Dili’s heat. Truly remarkable. Breakfast is a cooked breakfast with beautifully cooked eggs and beans. Plus fruit. Fresh fruit juices are also available for an extra fee. We were two but had booked the two bedroom ground floor apartment for our stays. WOW! Huge with one double bed and two twins and two bathrooms plus kitchenette. We even had a handy washer and dryer.(You can buy washing powder at the little convenience stores almost across the street from the hotel). Everything was very clean, water was hot, and the WIFI worked well. There a decent bakery/cafe a five minute walk from the hotel and lots of coconut and fresh produce vendors nearby. The hotel was a small pool. The only suggested improvement would be to have their shuttle available to guests for short hops across town for a fee like some other hotels in Dili offer, given that it takes so long to get a local taxi. (Microlet taxi bus services are easily available from close to the hotel if need be.)

This hotel was among the top 5 most expensive in Dili at the rates that day. The staff service was good. However, there were some drawbacks, such as the Wi-Fi not working (though they did fix it), and the shower not having hot water (which wasn't addressed). The location is close to the beach, but there are almost no restaurants nearby, so be aware of that. I knew this beforehand, so it was fine. Room service also ends early, so it's best to bring your own food. It wasn't very good for the price. It felt like the friendliness of the local staff was making up for it, so I hope the management will properly maintain the facilities!

Convenient location to walk to the beach or Avenue de Portugal to catch a microlet. Comfortable accomodation, good breakfast, and amazing air conditioning when you need it. Staff were super helpful, and the airport transfer was convenient.
