Corbie - hotel en appartementen

At the check-in desk, the young lady on duty didn't have a friendly word to say, not even a smile to be seen ~ the smell of cigarette smoke was noticeable in the room ~ other shortcomings were not unbearable in themselves, but nothing was commensurate with the price ~ at breakfast, no warm greeting, barely a smile ~ no, I really do not recommend the Corbie hotel in Mol.

Gave 5 stars at first, but got an invoice for towels that apparently were missing from my room. But these towels were not there when I arrived in the first place. They were fast to cancel the invoice after I messaged them, but still a small headache. Otherwise very nice.

The room was fairly comfortable. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the rest. The ground-floor rooms open onto a long corridor, the soundproofing is terrible, and the hotel reception is regularly overrun by rude, disrespectful, and noisy regulars. The young woman I met was practically nonexistent. She offered no explanations, and I felt like I was bothering her when I arrived. I will absolutely never return. €140 a night for this?! It's unacceptable.

I stayed here for 1 night during the Graspop Festival and I still feel very lucky that I was able to get accommodation like this at the time. Mainly because there seemed to be ZERO affordable accommodation available anywhere even remotely close to the festival grounds. Pros: Just around the corner/a very short walk from the main Mol train/bus station, with regular buses to and from Graspop festival and the town itself right on your doorstep. The bed was very comfortable, and the entire room was much nicer overall than the pictures led me to believe. Cons: The walls were a little bit on the thin side, so earplugs might very well be needed if you find yourself next to a noisy neighbour. I did notice that the shower curtain wasn't long enough, which meant that the bathroom floor got very wet every time that I showered. Luckily, there were plenty of towels supplied! Overall, a very nice stay, in a very nice room, for a very reasonable price! I would happily stay there again and would most definitely recommend it!
